This is a form of dance done in a circle where everyone does the same simple moves and you form a moving mandala. These community circle dances have been done worldwide since the dawn of time to foster community, fun and the sacred. All dances have a theme. Some are ancient, some very new. It's important to flex from "fight or flight" in our self defense training to togetherness, safety and creativity in the dance. This allows our full spectrum of humanity to be exercised. We will end the day with heart centered stillness.
Your Instructor:
Alexandra Tait is the Creatrix and Lead instructor of Artemis Archery Asheville and the Wild Wisdom trainings. She brings a lifelong passion of Archery, ancestral skills, embodiment and dance to this program. She is seasoned in the field of woman’s empowerment, personal sovereignty and self reliance. She has been fire keeper for the S.E. Woman’s Herbal Conference, Archery instructor at the Firefly Primitive Skills Gathering and Staff at the Michigan Woman’s Music Festival. (The largest woman’s festival in the world) for many years. She has also taught at the Glastonbury Goddess Festival. U.K. and many more. Because of the dangerous (weapons and self defense) and sensitive (Rights of Passage/ cultivating intuition) nature of this program this bio will be a little more detailed.
As an Interfaith Minister and spiritual counselor she encourages a personal relationship with the divine by cultivating your intuition and empowerment from within. Alexandra is also a member of the “Sisterhood of Avalon” An international Celtic woman’s mysteries organization deeply connected to nature, female divinity and cultivating personal sovereignty through transformation.
Alexandra “escaped suburbia with a backpack at age 19 and travelled extensively in the USA, Europe, Egypt and Israel. She serendipitously worked in Norway as an art dealer to finance her travels. She primarily lived in England in the warm weather and with the tribal people of Egypt in the winters. She had the opportunity to immerse herself in the sacred sites of both lands enriching her ability to tap into magic which she loves to share. Her travels were an extraordinary education which showed her so many ways to live upon this Earth from completely primitive to high tech.
Upon returning to the states 5 years later Alexandra got very involved with environmental education and activism to protect the beautiful planet she came to know and love. Soon, she felt like she was creating “band aids” of laws without addressing the root cause of pollution; consciousness. She chose to start with herself. She travelled and explored extensively WITHIN for the next 25 years in the fields of wholistic health and healing.
Dance is her passion having studied Five Rhythms ecstatic dance with Gabriel Roth and others and Circle Dance at Touchstone Farm in Massachusetts for six years. She has attended numerous dance camps and teaches circle dance at festivals and gatherings.
Her private practice has been at the Appalachian School for Holistic Herbalism in Asheville for the past 15 years. In 2021 She became a Qigong instructor with Healing Tao USA. She balances her time between teaching Archery and Qigong and doing Healing sessions. This summer will be her tenth year leading Artemis Archery Adventure Day Camp.
Note: Even though many topics taught in this course are very serious and intense like self defense, and working with sharp knives, axes, bows and arrows requiring utmost safety, focus and respect; Alexandra knows how to balance it with a sense of humor and a lot of fun!
Indeed, she brings many unique perspectives and gems to share from her amazing journey to her “wild wisdom” courses…

The Supreme Hindu Goddess of 10,000 names. She holds Her bow. One of four power objects. Her bow is made of sugarcane and her arrows are flowers. Each of the 5 flowers represents the 5 senses. When you shoot each flower arrow away, you deepen into your core of stillness... Her sugarcane bow represents the flexibility of mind to expand outward and to go within thereby releasing the sweet nectar of Spirit.
